The Adler via ferrata leads over the east ridge and the steep rock faces on its south side to the Karkopf. Heavy and sometimes quite airy climbing passages are balanced with easy and promising ridge passages. The view of the Hohe Munde, Inntal and the Zugspitze is great and makes the day an unforgettable experience.
On this day we meet in the morning in the parking lot, which is the starting point for today's tour. From here we follow the path, initially through the forest and later through pine fields for about 1:45 hours until the entrance. Once there, we put on our safety equipment - helmet, climbing harness and via ferrata set and enjoy the view with a sip from the water bottle.
The first few meters lead relatively comfortably through the wall, before the first heavy places are waiting for us. The climbing sites with a via ferrata rating from C/D let us tackle neatly at one point or another. Over a pillar we finally reach the ridge and can enjoy the view and shake out our arms a bit.
In the middle part of the Adlersteig we climb through a rock hole, the Eagle Eye. We continue to keep to the ridge, but leave it again and again on the steep south face. After a blending, we reach the exit. During a snack we enjoy the wonderful view.
Then we start the descent and follow the hiking trail - in much easier terrain - back to the parking lot.
