Do you love the untouched and snow-covered mountains? Would you like to experience nature up close and enjoy the silence? Then you should definitely try snowshoeing! Dive into the enchanting winter world of the Wetterstein Mountains with our mountain guides and explore untouched snowy landscapes and mountain worlds. Snowshoes are a traditional means of transport with a long tradition. This type of locomotion has been gaining in popularity for years. Whether old or young, leisurely or sporty, with or without friends and family, with our snowshoe hikes, everyone gets their money's worth. At our snowshoe workshop weekend in the Garmisch ski area, you will learn everything you need to know about snowshoe hiking and what you need to bear in mind when "being out and about" in the wintry mountains. The Kreuzeckhaus offers the perfect accommodation for this. You will also learn how to plan your own tour and what to watch out for when snowshoeing with regard to the risk of avalanches. Another focus is on handling the possibly life-saving avalanche transceiver equipment.
Process:
Day 1:
Meeting point Kreuzeckbahn valley station. After a joint equipment check, we take the train to our accommodation, the Kreuzeckhaus. After we have moved into our rooms, a snowshoe hike is already on the agenda. We hike comfortably up to the Osterfelderkopf. Here we have the opportunity to strengthen ourselves with coffee and cake. And of course we won't let the gigantic view from the Alpspix take us away. In the evening there is still a small theory part, we plan the tour for the next day together. We pay great attention to possible danger spots. In addition, we address any uncertainties regarding the walking technique with snowshoes. (ascent approx. 400hm)
Day 2:
After a hearty breakfast we will soon leave. It goes out into the winter landscape. We hike along the route to the Stuiben planned the night before. On the way back, there might be one or two detours into deep snow slopes. The cozy hut on the Hochalm invites you to take a break and have a bite to eat. After a last stop together in the Kreuzeckhaus, it's easy to take the train down to Garmisch. (ascent approx. 400hm)
