The area below the Alpspitze offers a grandiose mountain backdrop as well as a multitude of alpine multi-pitch tours, which are ideally suited for the entry into the alpine climbing of longer tours due to the simple short approach, the comparatively good protection and the moderate descent.
Day 1:
We don't waste any time and, after a short equipment check, we take the Alpspitzbahn to Osterfelderkopf immediately. Here the mighty north face of the Alpspitze towers in front of us and shows us our "playground" for the next 3 days. After an update in the area of knot science and safety theory, we are dealing with the important topic of stand construction and discussing the correct rope team procedure when climbing multi-pitch tours after an update. In order to be perfectly equipped for the day ahead, safe rappelling in the mountains is practiced again in detail. After dinner at the Kreuzeckhaus, we plan our tour for the day ahead.
Day 2:
We let ourselves be woken up by the sun, pack our backpacks and set off on the one-hour ascent to the entrances to the multi-pitch tours at the Alpspitze. After a short training session on laying mobile belay devices, we finally embark on our first alpine climbing tour. Here we have the opportunity to deepen all the techniques we have learned and to supplement the existing protection with boring hooks by means of clamping wedges and natural security points such as "Felsköpfl" or sandglasses. Concentrated and with proudly swollen chest we descend again via the "Herzl" and the Alpspitz-Ferrata.
Day 3:
Also on this day we have the opportunity to go on an alpine climbing tour at the Alpspitze or alternatively at the Höllentorkopf. We deepen the knowledge we have learned about the rope team process and today, depending on self-confidence and personal ability, move on to independently lead a rope team. We learn how to assess hooks, practice strengthening stands with additional safety devices and specifically focus on alpine climbing techniques. After a perfectly successful day, we descend to the Kreuzeckhaus again, pack our things there and take the Kreuzeckbahn back to the parking lot in the valley. The impressions of the past few days will surely remain in our head forever.
