Many roads lead to the top of the Kramer. Probably the best known leads over the St.Martins hut and the "Schöne Aussicht" (nice view) to the summit. We will then traverse the peak and descent via the Stepbergalm.
In the morning we meet at the Bayernhalle or at the Berggasthof Almhütte in Garmisch. From there it is about 20 minutes to the chapel. Right by the chapel, it is a good idea to take a look over Garmisch for the first time. This is also where the path splits. Now we follow a gravel road, which is only used by farmers and the St.Martins hut. At the hut we take a short break and. Behind the hut we find a path that leads us within 2-3 hours to the tree line and finally over it to the summit. After we have left the dense forest and we are surrounded by mountain pines.
On the other side of the valley we can see the complete Musterstein chain as well as the Schachen and also the Alpspitze and Zugspitze. After a break on the summit, we set off again. We follow the wide ridge, partly on the right, partly on the left until we finally arrive in the meadows of the Steppbergalm. There we enjoy the ambience and maybe even treat ourselves to one of the many great things from the menu. After our "coffee break" we finally start the descent to the Berggasthof Almhütte. Our hiking guide says goodbye there and we look back on a great day on the mountain.
