With our special ski touring courses for beginners, you will learn everything you need to be able to travel independently in open terrain. Materials knowledge, correct putting on and taking off skins, choosing a route adapted to the terrain, hairpin bends/kick bends, downhill techniques, and much more.
We pay great attention to avalanche emergency equipment. Safe handling of an avalanche transceiver, probe and shovel is a must for every snow sports enthusiast away from the secured pistes. Tour planning and the interpretation of the avalanche situation report round off the theoretical part.
Your skills will be trained individually in small groups in order to ensure the greatest possible training success for each participant. The Stuibenhütte with its special flair is a perfect base for us. With Bernadeinspitze, Stuibenspitze, Griesskar and Mauerscharte, we have a large selection of possible ski tours.
The content of our ski touring course at the Kreuzeckhaus is absolutely the same as this course. So if your desired date is already fully booked, please take a look at the ski touring course for beginners at Kreuzeck.
Process:
1 day
We meet at the Alpspitzbahn valley station at Kassenhäuserl. After the ascent to the Osterfelderkopf, we descend on the slope to the Bernadein lift. Once there, we climb to our accommodation at the Stuibenhütte. Now it starts with an introduction to ski touring and safety equipment. We then look at ski touring techniques such as tracking, walking technique, hairpin bends, etc. After a short refreshment, we continue with intensive training in how to use the often life-saving avalanche transceiver equipment. In addition to the avalanche transceiver search, the correct use of shovels and probes is also very important to us, as in the event of a real burial, the time until the avalanche victim is uncovered plays a central role. After dinner and a chat with the hut landlord, we get into the theoretical part - planning tours for the next day and evaluating the avalanche situation report.
2 day
Today we would like to put what we have learned into practice on a ski tour. The small peaks around the Stuibenhütte are the ideal practice area. In the evening we can look back on an eventful weekend in which we learned a lot. Now we are ready for our first ski tour!
