The area around the Lizumer Hütte is an Eldorado for winter sports enthusiasts. Perfectly graded slopes, a variety of touring options in all levels of difficulty and a beautiful landscape round off the ski touring course for beginners. The course is suitable for both ski touring beginners and piste ski touring beginners who want to improve their off-piste skills.
Far away from the main ski slopes, we can practise all the important ski touring techniques such as hairpin bends, track formation and the correct walking technique in a quiet atmosphere and also deal intensively with avalanche transceiver search and Equipment.
Programme:
Day 1: After a welcome at the agreed meeting point and an equipment check, we have a transfer to the hut. Once we arrive at the hut, we start with a briefing on the ski touring equipment before we put our skins on our skis and set off on our first short ski tour. On the way, we will already incorporate the first practice sessions for the correct technique for ski touring, such as efficient and energy-saving walking with skis and the use of climbing aids during the tour. In the afternoon we learn how to use the often life-saving avalanche safety equipment. In addition to searching for avalanche safety equipment, the correct use of shovels and probes is also very important to us, as the time it takes to free the avalanche victim plays a key role in a real avalanche. At the hut, we round off this eventful day with an insight into correct tour planning.
Day 2: After breakfast, we set out for a short ski tour near the hut to improve our skiing technique on the ascent and descent. The tour is the perfect opportunity to practise course content such as kick turns, the correct track layout and the transfer of tour planning to the terrain. The terrain always offers wide to medium-steep slopes, which are also a pleasure for the descent. After refreshments at the hut, we will further internalise our avalanche transceiver training and take a closer look at avalanche assessment. In the evening we plan our final ski tour together.
Day 3: After the first day was a healthy mix of theoretical and practical knowledge, we now want to put what we have learnt into practice on a ski tour. That's why we set off today and climb an easy to moderately difficult ski tour mountain. In the evening, we can look back on an eventful weekend during which we learnt a lot. Now we're ready for our first ski tour!
