If you want to get closer to the two sports of sports-climbing and climbing via ferrata, this course near Nassereith in Tyrol is just the thing for you. First of all, you have the opportunity to test your climbing skills, especially climbing on slabs. The mountain guide belays you here in easy climbing tours in the Nassereith sport climbing area. Then you are well equipped to tackle the nearby "Leite" via ferrata. This course is suitable for all sporty mountain enthusiasts who may have already done one or the other tour or easy via ferrata and are now looking for new challenges.
The Leite via ferrata near Nassereith is possible to be climbed very early in the year and is exactly the right place to gain initial experience in difficult but not too long via ferratas. The path partly follows very smooth slabs and finally crosses the wall to the right to the exit. In some places, of the almost 500 meters of climbing, some arm strength is required to get further. As a small highlight of the tour, a photogenic rope bridge can be crossed in the upper part. The deep view and the fantastic mountain atmosphere make the whole thing an unforgettable experience.
On this day we meet at the parking lot near Nassereith specially designed for climbers. From the parking lot we can already see the wall with the climbing routes and the via ferrata and are excited about what to expect. We first climb comfortably over a forest path, along the meadow and then along a path through the light forest in about 20 minutes to the entrance. Once there, we put on our safety equipment. For the next 2-2.5 hours we have the opportunity - secured by a rope - to improve our climbing ability and foot technique on easy climbing tours and to prepare for the upcoming climbing in the via ferrata. If everyone feels safe here, we head to the Leite via ferrata, which is about a 20-minute walk away.
We begin with the climbing, along the edge to get warm. The difficulties increase slowly until we finally reach the first key section, a smooth slab with the via ferrata rating C/D. After this first show of force, we can shake out our arms in stepped terrain and enjoy the view. After further flat passages, with a few difficult spots, we reach an exposed pillar, which demands a lot from us. After another short flat stretch, we have the opportunity to write something in the route book and see who has been there before us. There is also a little bench, which invites to take a short rest.
Now we face the last hurdle, an airy rope bridge with a good view down, just right for taking some breathtaking souvenir photos. Then finally we reach the exit. There we can descend to the parking lot again via the created path.
Sporty, motivated children and young people who are at least 12 years old and taller than 1.55m will really enjoy this course.
