The Zugspitze is the landmark of Garmisch-Partenkirchen and also the highest mountain in Germany. Almost everyone knows what is probably the most famous mountain in the region from skiing. But why not experience this wonderful mountain world with snowshoes? Enjoy the untouched powder slopes with the mountain hiking guides of the Garmisch Alpine School and discover the fascination of snowshoe hiking for yourself.
Process:
We meet at the train station of the Bayerische Zugspitzbahn in Garmisch-Partenkirchen. Together we will travel in an environmentally friendly way by train and cable car to the highest mountain in Germany. After the summit photo and a look over today's touring area, we head to the Sonnalpin. Arriving at the Zugspitzplatt, we go on a journey of discovery together on the highest mountain in Germany. After the wonderful snowshoe tour, if the weather is good, we can enjoy the view from the roof of Germany over four countries. After a leisurely stop with a unique panorama, we take the cable car or the train down to the valley to the Eibsee and from there we take the train back to the main station. An unforgettable day in Garmisch-Partenkirchen and on the Zugspitze.
Perhaps a little tip for anyone arriving from the north by public transport: From Munich you can travel comfortably with the Regio-Ticket Werdenfels from Deutsche Bahn and arrive at the main station in Garmisch - not far from the station of the Bavarian Zugspitzbahn.
