In our 3-day intensive via ferrata course you will really learn everything that is important to do with via ferrata. Material knowledge, knot knowledge, the correct use of via ferrata equipment on the via ferrata as well as careful tour planning are the focus of this course. In addition to safe movement on the via ferrata, techniques for easy belaying of children and young people as well as blocked people in difficult passages are also taught.
1 day
On the first day, you first have to learn the tools you need to be able to safely climb the via ferrata. To do this, we climb from the Kreuzeckhaus to the practice via ferrata on the Aschengrat, which is located directly above the "Himmelsburg" climbing garden. These two locations are ideal for bringing the group up to speed on materials and knots. In addition, we can practice belaying people as well as abseiling here. This day is rounded off by teaching simple climbing techniques that will make it easier for all of us to climb the via ferrata on the following days!
2 day
Since a lot of techniques and information were conveyed on the previous day, today it's practice, practice, practice. We can very well combine the application of the knowledge we have learned with the tour through the Schöngänge on the Bernadeienspitze - an easy category A via ferrata. The terrain - especially at the beginning of the via ferrata - is ideal for practicing belaying on the via ferrata or even a break Simulate with abseiling if you get stuck in the group. In addition, we are made aware of the special features and possible dangers of climbing via ferratas. During the afternoon we can practice many different scenarios and specifically respond to individual questions. After dinner we discuss important theories about via ferrata and get an introduction to weather science. Afterwards we plan our tomorrow's tour to the Alpspitze.
3rd day
Today the Alpspitze with its 2628 meters is our destination. In order to be able to apply and deepen our acquired knowledge practically, we choose the ascent via the Alpspitz Ferrata - a comparatively easy category A/B via ferrata. It is relatively steep at the beginning, secured to the wire rope and impressively upwards on footholds. The following somewhat flatter part invites you to take a look at the Höllental with the Höllentalferner and the Zugspitze. We finally reach the edge of the northwest ridge and now only have a few, but exciting meters to the summit cross of the Alpspitze. From there we have a breathtaking view of the Werdenfelser Land and enjoy our snack in the sun.
The descent is via the beautiful east ridge and the north face climb, via which we reach the mountain station again after about 1.5 hours and take the train down to the valley.
